However, truthful documentation of difficult history—including events such as slavery, genocide, or war—is welcome when presented with respect and care. We share these stories not to celebrate them, but to understand them in the hopes they are never repeated.

2. Account Creation

• Users must create an account to view the site’s family history data. This measure helps protect our content and prevents automated data scrapers from overwhelming the site and consuming bandwidth.
• There is no cost to create an account.
• Users may request to have their account deleted at any time.
• If an account is deleted, any stories, comments, or other contributions previously provided will remain on the site as part of the historical record.

3. Content Submission

• You may submit stories, photographs, documents, or other materials relevant to family history.
• By submitting, you affirm that you own the rights to the content or have permission to share it.
• You grant this site permission to publish and display the content for non-commercial, family history purposes.

4. Accuracy & Corrections

• We encourage contributors to share sources when possible (records, citations, family documents).
• Family lore and personal memories are welcome but should be identified as such.
• If errors are found, we welcome corrections and reserve the right to edit submissions for accuracy, clarity, or consistency.

5. Privacy

• To protect living individuals, birthdates, addresses, or other personal identifiers will not be published without consent.
• Content may be edited or removed at any time to comply with privacy standards.

6. Copyright & Ownership

• Do not submit copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder.
• All submissions remain the property of the original contributor, but by posting them here you grant a license for this site to use, display, and preserve them.
